We were task the main factors of this project for example; carrying out research into web design and production. (Looking online at other websites and comparing whilst also been critical on their designs and layout of the website). I was also asked to Gain an understanding of web design principles, including: Assets, legal and ethical constraints, Industry practice, apply this new found knowledge when planning and plan a structured, interactive website using appropriate resources.

Select a relevant website to analyse and investigate.
Investigate and explore the website in order to gain an understanding of the protocols and principals used throughout.
Refer to this PPP and your notes throughout.
The final result will be an illustrated, detailed report which demonstrates your understanding of web protocols and principals, with the use of subject terminology throughout.

Authoring
Unit 59: Web Authoring
We learnt about web authoring though a Power point presentation= Authoring tools allow designers to invent, plan and create a product to publish to an audience.
Authoring tools are available through software packages.

HTML: XHTML we again leant using a PowerPoint presentation on what HMTL is and why it’s used we were then set the task of;
To locate a suitable website and view the source.
Print out the source
Highlight HTML that you recognise
State what that HTML means
e.g. <br> break

We were then set a 2nd task of:
To write a brief report based upon the purpose of the following:
©       Hyperlinks.
©       Meta-tags.
©       Metadata.
©       XHTML.
©       CSS.
©       And include examples where appropriate.

February:
CSS: Learning Outcome 1 Unit 59
CSS PPP I learnt that It is a ‘style sheet language’ used to describe the presentation, the look and formatting, of a document written in a mark up language e.g. HTML, XHTML.
It’s most common application is to style web pages written in HTML and XHTML.
Task one:
©       Access a website.
©       Page > Style > No style – print out with and without a style sheet set.
©       Note down the main differences.
Task two:
©       Complete the consolidation sheet.

Friday 04.03.11
Task:
To refer to the HTML and CSS PPPs on Moodle, as well as the notes you took/worksheets and carry out the task 2 on HTML PPP. To write a brief report based upon the purpose of the following and include an example where appropriate.Hyperlinks.Meta-tags.Metadata.XHTML.CSS. This report must reflect an in-depth understanding in order to gain high grades. I was also asked to review the worksheets and any notes taken, as well as carry out further reading upon HTML and CSS in order to develop your understanding.

Starting the web design process;
After going through many different ideas for a website including
©       Fashion
©       Art
©       Dance
©       Tourism
©       Cupcakes
I decided on making my website on ‘Cupcakes’ as I though this is the most interesting for my audience and a more personal website to me.
Dreamweaver tutorials started this week my tutor showed me the basic steps that I needed to undertake in order to make my website.
Tuesday 27th of March I created footer header and background on Adobe Photoshop CS5. I created the header to allow the audience of my website to clarify that the website they have accessed is inspired, the footer was made to allow the user to see that the websites content is copyrighted and of the terms and conditions and terms of privacy.

Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th;
 I began the process of creating the pages this was done within Adobe Photoshop CS5.         My colour scheme was baby pink, baby blue, purple and yellow I wrote my colours down with the RGB numbers so I could use them again in Photoshop. All my pages were made on Photoshop them moved across to Adobe dream weaver CS5.
Consolidation sheet: Friday the 6th
This was a test to see what I had learnt throughout the tutorials. I achieved a high grade on this as id been revising it.

Today is the final day to complete our websites; I have completed my website and only have minor finishing touches to finish such as testing my links and spell checking my content. Making sure my web site has no ‘SPAG’ errors.

10th of May: today is alpha and beta testing day!
Today is alpha and beta testing day!  Which will also provide an opportunity to gain criticism from the rest of the group I will also be able to see what websites the others have created and see how they have adapted their website to their specific purpose. I will also be using this last session as a chance to review my written work for this assignment and make any amendments. Ben groves ALPHA and BETA tested my website and found now errors this makes me feel confident about my website.
Friday the 13th of May: Reflected report which is a report upon how well the project has gone for example; these are the questions we were set;
·       Compare website to original intentions (storyboards and proposal) Do they follow what you intend to
Achieve?
·       Is it fit for purpose?
·       Is it suitable for the target audience?
·       What are the technical qualities?
·       What are the aesthetic qualities?
·       Is the content (including font, colours and layout style) suitable? Why?
·       How do you feel the production process went – including time management, project management,
The inclusion of above and beyond what is expected?
·       What skills do you feel you have obtained and developed throughout the project and how will these
Help in the future?
